The meteorological department has predicted more precipitation over the next few days, with heavy rain expected over the plains of Kupwara, Baramulla, and Bandipora districts. Additionally, moderate to heavy snowfall is possible over higher reaches, including the Sonamarg-Zojila axis, Sinthan top, Sadhna top, Razdan top, and Peer ki Gali.
From March 10 to 11, generally cloudy conditions with light to moderate rain in the plains and snowfall over higher reaches are anticipated. The minimum temperature in Srinagar was recorded at 3.3 degrees Celsius, and day temperatures are expected to fall by four to six degrees Celsius at many places after March 9.
Advisories and Warnings
Farmers have been advised to suspend farm operations between March 10 and 12 due to the adverse weather conditions. The department has also issued an advisory warning of temporary traffic disruption over higher reaches and important mountain passes due to snowfall.
Thunder and gusty winds with speeds of 30–40 kmph are possible at a few places between March 9 and 11, adding to the weather challenges faced by the region.
