Tvk candidate list 2026: C. Joseph Vijay Leads TVK in Tamil Nadu Elections
The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has officially announced its candidate list for the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, with C. Joseph Vijay set to contest from Perambur and Trichy East. This marks a significant moment as the party aims to field candidates in all 234 Assembly constituencies across the state.
Founded in 2024, TVK is positioning itself as a clean, people-centric alternative to the ruling DMK. Vijay, who is 51 years old, emphasized that the candidates are drawn from ordinary families, aiming to resonate with the common citizen.
“It will be C. Joseph Vijay from Perambur in Chennai and Tiruchirappalli East,” Vijay stated, highlighting his commitment to representing the people. The candidate list includes notable names such as N. Anand, Adhav Arjuna, R. Arunraaj, CTR Nirmal Kumar, and K. A. Sengottaiyan.
In a bid to address concerns about political corruption, Vijay administered a pledge to all candidates, promising to avoid corruption and ensure the safety of women. “I will not touch even one paisa of the people’s money,” he declared, reinforcing his commitment to integrity in governance.
Vijay’s entry into politics marks his debut in parliamentary politics, and he is determined to challenge the narrative that inexperienced candidates cannot lead effectively. “They say our people have no experience. But those with experience have only used that experience to loot,” he remarked, advocating for a fresh approach to governance.
As the election date approaches, observers note that this election is shaping up to be a two-front battle between TVK, which has formed an alliance with the people, and the DMK. The stakes are high as voters look for a change in leadership and direction.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the finalization of all candidates, but the enthusiasm within the party is palpable as they prepare for the electoral battle ahead.
