Ttd: Tirupati Receives Rs 1 Crore Donation Amid Controversy

A Chennai-based firm, Subbarow Apparels, has made a significant contribution to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) by donating Rs 1 crore to the Sri Balaji Arogya Varaprasadini scheme. This generous donation aims to enhance medical facilities and acquire advanced equipment for underprivileged patients at the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS).

The donation cheque was officially handed over to TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdary, marking a notable step in TTD’s ongoing commitment to providing top-quality medical services.

However, this positive development comes amid growing controversies surrounding TTD’s leadership. Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, a prominent figure in the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), has publicly criticized the conduct of B.R. Naidu, the TTD Chairman, accusing him of damaging the institution’s reputation.

Reddy has called for Naidu’s immediate removal, labeling his actions as “indecent and disgraceful.” The allegations include misuse of VIP darshan privileges for political gain, which has raised concerns about the integrity of TTD’s operations.

These events unfold as the FSSAI technology lab was initiated during the tenure of the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government, highlighting the ongoing intersection of politics and religious institutions in the region.

Chandrababu Naidu has also faced accusations from Reddy, who claims that Naidu is falsely taking credit for projects while sidelining officials who have genuinely contributed to TTD’s initiatives.

As TTD continues to extend its role beyond spiritual services to support education, healthcare, and social welfare programs, the impact of these controversies could influence its future operations.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the potential fallout from these allegations and whether any changes in leadership will occur in the near future.

The upcoming Jubilee Hills Society elections on April 5 may further complicate the political landscape surrounding TTD, as stakeholders watch closely for developments.
