Rgpv: Bhopal: Student Claims to Find Lizard in Hostel Meal
Hostel food often becomes a topic of debate regarding hygiene, trust, and accountability. Recently, a student at the University Institute of Technology, RGPV in Bhopal, brought this issue to the forefront by claiming to have found a lizard in his meal.
The incident unfolded when the student expressed his shock, stating, “Bhai saab, yeh kya hai, dekh lo.” His claim quickly gained traction after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
In a surprising turn, a member of the mess staff insisted that the object was merely capsicum, or “Shimla mirch hai yaar.” To prove his point, he even consumed the item in question, which only added to the controversy.
The student, however, remained adamant, asserting that the object had a lizard’s eye, saying, “Yeh pahu hai iske. Chipkali hai, uski aankh nikal rahi thi.” This stark disagreement between the student and the staff member has raised serious questions about food safety in the hostel.
In response to the uproar, the university has formed a committee to investigate the matter thoroughly. RGPV Director Sudhir Bhadoria has assured the community that student health will not be compromised, stating that “strict action would follow if negligence was found.”
As the investigation unfolds, the canteen operator has denied the allegations, maintaining that the item was indeed capsicum. Details remain unconfirmed, leaving many in the community anxious about the outcome.
This incident highlights the ongoing concerns regarding food hygiene in educational institutions, prompting discussions about the need for better oversight and accountability in hostel mess facilities.
Observers are keenly watching how the university will address this situation, as it could set a precedent for handling similar complaints in the future. The community hopes for a resolution that prioritizes student welfare and food safety.
