Nta: India’s Releases Provisional Answer Key for JEE Main 2026 Session 2

The JEE Main exam is one of the largest engineering entrance tests in India. This year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the second session of the exam from April 2 to April 8, 2026, across 566 examination centres in 304 cities within India and 14 cities abroad. Approximately 11.23 lakh candidates participated in this computer-based test.

On April 11, 2026, the NTA released the provisional answer key for the JEE Main 2026 Session 2, allowing candidates to access their response sheets and question papers to evaluate their performance. However, the release has not been without controversy. Students have raised concerns regarding discrepancies in the Chemistry section of the exam.

In light of these concerns, candidates are advised to wait for clarification regarding these discrepancies before submitting objections. The NTA has stated that candidates can challenge the provisional answer key for a fee of ₹200 per question, but this fee is non-refundable, even if the challenge is accepted.

“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?? RELEASE THE CORRECT ANS KEY ASAP AND ISSUE AND APOLOGY REGARDING THE MENTAL TORTURE YOU HAVE GIVEN TO THIS SHIFT CHILDREN,” expressed one frustrated student. Another added, “This discrepancy cannot be dismissed with just an apology from NTA. Accountability must be ensured.”

In response to the uproar, the NTA has acknowledged the inconvenience caused, urging candidates not to make any payments related to challenges until an official clarification is issued. “Students can now receive real-time updates, exam alerts and all essential information in one place,” the agency stated, highlighting its commitment to transparency.

The final answer key is expected to be released on April 20, 2026, which will clarify the current situation for the candidates. Meanwhile, students are encouraged to analyze their responses and raise objections if necessary, ensuring their voices are heard in this important process.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the exact nature of discrepancies in the Chemistry exam, but the NTA is working diligently to address these issues. As the situation develops, candidates and their families are urged to stay informed through official channels.
