Ranjit Bajaj, the founder of Minerva Academy, shared insights into the challenges faced in preparing for the tournament. “The entire process was very difficult. Initially, visas got rejected, and we thought our dreams would be shattered,” he remarked, highlighting the determination of the team to overcome obstacles. Such resilience is a testament to the spirit of youth football.
Funding for the trip has also been a significant challenge, with the team raising 45 lakhs through crowdfunding and taking personal loans amounting to 2 crores. Bajaj expressed hope that an additional 15 lakhs could be raised to support the team’s journey. “These tournaments are about the whole Indian dream,” said Tony Huidrom, emphasizing the broader significance of their participation.
