Gwanghwamun square: BTS to Perform at in 2026
BTS to Hold Comeback Concert
“We are preparing based on the assumption that the maximum number of people could gather,” stated Park Jeong Bo, emphasizing the scale of the upcoming event at Gwanghwamun Square.
BTS is set to hold a highly anticipated comeback concert at Gwanghwamun Square on March 21, 2026. The event is expected to draw up to 260,000 fans, marking a significant moment as the group returns after a hiatus that began in 2022.
The concert will feature brand-new performances from their upcoming album, “Arirang,” which is scheduled for release just one day prior, on March 20, 2026. This performance will not only be a celebration of their return but also a showcase of the themes of resilience and identity that the album embodies.
In a historic first, the concert will be streamed globally on Netflix, allowing fans from around the world to participate in the experience. The concert is expected to last approximately one hour, with 13,000 ticket holders granted access to a fenced core performance enclosure.
Gwanghwamun Square, known as the historic heart of Seoul, has been a site of significant cultural and political events for centuries. The square’s restoration, including the Woldae stage to its original dimensions in 2023, sets the stage for this monumental event.
The concert is projected to generate over $1 billion in revenue, reflecting the immense popularity of BTS and the K-pop genre globally. Following this concert, BTS will embark on an extensive 82-show world tour, spanning 34 cities across 23 countries from April 2026 to March 2027.
As the date approaches, the preparations are reshaping Seoul’s entire infrastructure, highlighting the importance of this event not only for BTS but for the city itself. The image of speeches given by kings to the people parallels the ‘Kings of K-pop’ returning to the sea of ARMY that will be gathered at Gwanghwamun Square.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding additional logistics and safety measures for the expected large crowd, but the excitement continues to build as fans eagerly await this historic performance.
