Fly91: Bengaluru Sees Flight Diversion Amid Bad Weather
What happens when a flight is diverted due to severe weather? In the case of a Fly91 flight from Hyderabad to Hubballi, the answer is a detour to Bengaluru—safely.
On April 19, 2026, this flight, carrying 22 passengers, took off from Hyderabad at around 3:30 PM. It was scheduled to land in Hubballi at 4:30 PM but faced unexpected turbulence and adverse conditions.
The aircraft circled Hubballi for nearly an hour before making the decision to divert. Eventually, it landed in Bengaluru at approximately 6:30 PM. Passengers experienced moments of panic during the flight, as indicated by a viral video showing their distress.
“Due to bad weather, the flight from Hyderabad to Hubballi was diverted to Bengaluru,” said an airport official. Thankfully, all passengers were reported safe.
Fly91 emphasized that there was no technical snag with the aircraft. “There was zero compromise to safety,” they stated. Reports suggesting otherwise were described as false and baseless.
The aircraft remained airborne for nearly three hours before landing in Bengaluru. After deboarding in Bengaluru, 18 of the passengers continued their journey back to Hubballi on a later flight that departed around 11 PM.
This incident isn’t isolated; similar weather-related disruptions occurred across the region on that day. Such diversions are routine during poor visibility or unstable weather—prioritizing passenger safety over schedule adherence.
As air travel continues to be affected by unpredictable weather patterns, it raises questions about preparedness and communication during such events.
For now, details remain unconfirmed regarding any further impact on Fly91’s operations following this incident. The focus remains on ensuring passenger safety above all else.
