On a significant day in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, Amit Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects worth over Rs 1,129 crore. This event marks a crucial step in enhancing infrastructure and services in the region.
During the public programme, Shah handed over appointment letters to 2,000 police constables, reinforcing the government’s commitment to bolstering law enforcement in the area. Additionally, he presented citizenship certificates to five Hindu families who had faced religious persecution in Pakistan and Afghanistan, highlighting the ongoing efforts under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
In total, 153 refugees from Pakistan and Afghanistan residing in Uttarakhand have been granted Indian citizenship, a move that underscores the government’s stance on providing refuge to those in need.
Shah also launched the e-Zero FIR system in Uttarakhand, designed to assist victims of financial cyber fraud. This system allows complaints to be registered as e-Zero FIRs at the State Cyber Police Station in Dehradun, facilitating quicker responses and actions by law enforcement.
While addressing the audience, Shah criticized the Congress party, alleging that it has facilitated the entry of infiltrators into the country. He stated, “Rahul Gandhi opposes every step and decision of the government because he sees negativity in everything,” reflecting the ongoing political tensions between the ruling party and the opposition.
Shah emphasized the need to drive out infiltrators from Uttarakhand to Kanyakumari, reinforcing the government’s agenda on national security. He noted that the Dhami government had successfully removed around 10,000 encroachments in Uttarakhand, showcasing efforts to maintain law and order.
Among the beneficiaries of the citizenship initiative was Shailesh, who served as the priest of the Hinglaj Mata temple in Balochistan, Pakistan, before seeking refuge in India. Another recipient, Hanseri Bai, applied for Indian citizenship after facing difficulties in Afghanistan due to the change of regime.
Shah concluded his address with a rallying cry, stating, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” which resonated with the attendees, emphasizing national pride and unity.
