Weather Jaipur: Rainfall Transforms City Conditions
Jaipur has recently welcomed a refreshing change in weather as several areas experienced rainfall on March 23, shifting the conditions from warm to pleasantly cool. This welcomed precipitation comes amid a nationwide weather alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), which forecasts widespread thunderstorms, rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds across various regions.
In response to the heavy rainfall, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has taken proactive measures by instructing district collectors to conduct immediate surveys to assess any crop damage that may have occurred. “The prosperity of Rajasthan rests on the foundation of our farmer brothers and sisters. The state government stands firmly with you with complete sensitivity and responsibility,” Sharma stated, emphasizing the importance of supporting the agricultural community during this time.
As thunderstorms continue to impact the region, an ‘Orange Alert’ has been issued for eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and parts of West Bengal, where wind speeds may reach up to 60 to 70 kmph, posing potential risks to safety and property.
The recent rainfall has also led to a significant drop in maximum temperatures in nearby Delhi, where the current temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius, with a humidity level of 65%. However, this rainfall activity is expected to subside starting March 24, bringing an end to the cooler conditions.
On March 22, the highest maximum temperature in Rajasthan was recorded in Barmer at 35.2 degrees Celsius, while light rain and thunderstorms were observed in parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner, Barmer, and Shekhawati. Rain is anticipated to continue in the Shekhawati region on March 25, further affecting local weather patterns.
Akhil Shrivastava from the IMD noted, “A large-scale thunderstorm activity is currently being witnessed across India,” highlighting the widespread nature of this weather phenomenon. As communities prepare for the aftermath of the storms, the focus remains on assessing the impact on agriculture and ensuring the safety of residents.
