Toll rises to 11 in Jabalpur cruise tragedy
The tragic Jabalpur cruise incident has raised serious concerns about safety measures and negligence in the tourism sector. As of May 2, 2026, the death toll has risen to 11 after two more bodies were recovered from Bargi Dam.
Search operations are still ongoing for two missing persons from the cruise that capsized during a storm while being operated by the state tourism department. The bodies of two young boys, Viraj Soni (6) and Tamil (5), were among those recovered.
