Thomas cook opens first outlet in Gwalior
Thomas Cook Expands in Madhya Pradesh
“Madhya Pradesh is an important source market for us at Thomas Cook India,” said Rajeev Kale, President & Country Head – Holidays, MICE, Visa at Thomas Cook (India) Limited. This statement underscores the company’s commitment to enhancing its presence in the region.
On March 11, 2026, Thomas Cook (India) Limited opened its first outlet in Gwalior, strategically located in the city centre. This new outlet expands the company’s footprint to six locations across Madhya Pradesh, reflecting its growth strategy in emerging markets.
The Gwalior outlet offers a comprehensive range of travel services, including international and domestic holidays, group tours, personalized vacations, and cruises. It is designed to cater to a diverse clientele, including multi-generational families, couples, millennials, Gen Z, and seniors.
Gwalior’s proximity to Delhi has been a driving factor for increased domestic travel to popular destinations such as Kashmir and Leh-Ladakh. The new outlet is expected to attract strong footfall due to its strategic location, making it a hub for local travelers.
In addition to the new outlet, Thomas Cook has also enhanced its service offerings through a partnership with Booking.com. This collaboration integrates over 31 million listings across 220 countries into Thomas Cook’s corporate booking tools, providing wider accommodation choices for corporate clients.
Indiver Rastogi, a representative from Thomas Cook, noted, “Through our partnership with Booking.com, we are redefining accommodation access—expanding global choice whilst enhancing the compliance and servicing framework that enterprises require.” This partnership aims to make Booking.com’s extensive global inventory truly ‘enterprise-ready’ for the Indian market, as highlighted by Mark van der Linden.
The launch of the Gwalior outlet is a strategic step for Thomas Cook, allowing the company to deepen its presence in Madhya Pradesh. As travel trends evolve, the average holiday duration for short trips has increased from three to five days, while longer trips now average ten to fifteen days.
With the introduction of an AI booking platform, Thomas Cook assists customers in planning personalized vacations in real time, further enhancing the customer experience.
As Thomas Cook continues to expand its network and services, the company remains focused on meeting the diverse needs of travelers in India. The new outlet in Gwalior is expected to play a pivotal role in this strategy.
