Cricket at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium had been suspended since June 2025 due to a tragic stampede during RCB’s title celebrations. The stadium, a cherished venue for fans and players alike, underwent safety audits and infrastructure upgrades conducted by Karnataka Police and the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) before its reopening.
RCB will play five home games at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, including the IPL 2026 Final and one playoff match. Additionally, the team will also host two games at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
The return of cricket to this iconic venue comes on the heels of India’s recent triumph in the T20 World Cup, where they secured victory against New Zealand by 96 runs. Sanju Samson’s impressive performance, scoring 89 runs in the final, contributed significantly to India’s win, marking their third Men’s T20 World Cup title.
