Silver: Ghaziabad Sees Price Surge Amidst Market Turbulence
As of April 19, 2026, the price of silver in Ghaziabad reached ₹2,75,000 per KG. Just a day earlier, on April 18, it was ₹2,64,900 per KG. This marked an impressive increase of ₹10,100 in just 24 hours.
Before this surge, expectations were high. Silver had been on an upward trajectory for most of April. The monthly trend opened at ₹2,76,000 and even peaked at ₹2,96,000. However, that optimism was short-lived.
On April 20, the situation shifted dramatically. Prices fell by 2.5% amid growing geopolitical tensions. The ongoing US-Iran war has significantly impacted the silver market—silver has lost around 14% since late February.
In Ghaziabad, local jeweler Rajesh Malhotra noted the swift changes: “Customers were rushing to buy silver before the price hike. Now they are hesitant as they see prices dropping again.” His sentiment reflects a broader uncertainty among buyers.
The price fluctuations are not isolated to Ghaziabad. In Kochi, silver was selling for the highest rate of ₹2,80,000 per KG while Tumkur reported the lowest at ₹2,75,000. Such disparities highlight regional variations influenced by local demand and supply.
According to market analysts, these shifts are often driven by external factors—”Silver prices are influenced by geopolitical conditions and market volatility,” explained financial expert Anjali Kumar.
The COMEX silver rate on April 20 stood at $78.75 per ounce. This international benchmark often dictates local pricing trends and can lead to immediate changes in consumer behavior.
As buyers navigate this unpredictable landscape, many are left wondering how long this volatility will last. The recent surge followed by a sharp decline has left many feeling unsettled.
Still, for some investors and jewelers in Ghaziabad, this is an opportunity—an opportunity to buy low when prices dip and sell high when they rise again.
While the immediate future remains uncertain with fluctuating prices and geopolitical concerns looming large over the market landscape—details remain unconfirmed regarding potential recovery or further decline.
