Gill’s visit to Wimbledon generated considerable attention, particularly on social media. The 26-year-old cricketer was also seen watching the matches alongside Sachin Tendulkar and his wife, Anjali Tendulkar, further highlighting his high-profile appearance at the tournament.
The official Wimbledon account on X (formerly Twitter) acknowledged the presence of three generations of Indian cricketing talent by sharing a collage. This post featured two moments from Centre Court, separated by more than a decade. The images included Tendulkar and Kohli attending Wimbledon in 2015, alongside a 2026 photograph of Tendulkar seated next to Gill. The caption on X read, “Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill. Sachin Tendulkar was a prominent figure in the Royal Box, where he witnessed the men’s singles semifinals. Tendulkar was accompanied by former West Indies captain Brian Lara, with both batting greats sharing attention after a history of international rivalry and later, camaraderie in charity matches.

Earlier in the week, he experienced his first Formula 1 race, attending the British Grand Prix at Silverstone as a VIP guest. On the cricketing front, Gill has demonstrated strong form during the bilateral series. He remained unbeaten with 84 runs in the opening match and followed this with a commanding 154 in the second game.
