Rain: DJP Extends Corporate Tax Reporting Deadline

In a significant move, the DJP has announced an extension of the corporate tax reporting deadline to May 31, 2026. This decision, directed by Finance Minister Purba Yudi Sadeva, aims to enhance taxpayer services during ongoing improvements in their tax administration system.

The previous deadline for corporate taxpayers was set for April 30, 2026. While this extension provides relief for businesses preparing their annual income tax returns, it does not affect individual taxpayers, who still face the April 30 deadline.

Key details of the extension:

  • The new reporting deadline for corporate taxpayers is May 31, 2026.
  • The previous deadline was April 30, 2026.
  • Individual taxpayers must still report by April 30, 2026.

Bimo Vijayanto, the Director General of Taxes, emphasized the importance of this extension. “This extension is based on the need to improve services for taxpayers,” he stated. He also mentioned that personal assistance will be available every day from Monday to Sunday during the reporting period.

This proactive approach reflects a commitment to ensuring that taxpayers receive adequate support. “We are committed to ensuring that this service is close to taxpayers and fully helps them,” Vijayanto added. The DJP is also working on enhancing its core tax administration system called CoreTax.

As these changes take effect, many businesses are likely breathing a sigh of relief. The extension not only allows more time for preparation but also signifies a shift towards more responsive governance in tax administration.
