Manali Weather Update: Fresh Snowfall and Rain Expected

Manali Weather Update

Manali weather is poised for significant changes as fresh snowfall and rain are anticipated until March 17. Yellow alerts have been issued for several districts, including Shimla, Kullu, Mandi, Kangra, and Chamba, due to expected thunderstorms, hail, lightning, and gusty winds.

On March 12, these districts are under alert for stormy conditions, with a brief dry spell expected on March 13 in the low and mid-hills. A fresh western disturbance is forecasted to trigger rain and snow across the state starting March 14.

Temperatures are also set to dip, with minimums likely to fall by 2°C to 4°C and maximums by 3°C to 5°C. As of now, Shimla recorded a minimum temperature of 13.6°C, while Dharamsala saw a minimum of 12.8°C. Manali itself recorded a minimum temperature of 11.2°C.

In contrast, Una was the hottest spot, recording a maximum temperature of 33.2°C, while Tabo in Lahaul-Spiti recorded the coldest minimum temperature at 1.4°C.

Despite the forecast, most areas remained dry, with only light showers observed in the higher hills over the past 24 hours. This pattern reflects the changing weather dynamics in Himachal Pradesh, which has been experiencing varying weather conditions recently.

As the situation develops, residents and visitors in Manali and surrounding areas are advised to stay updated on weather alerts and prepare for the potential impacts of the incoming weather system. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the exact timing and intensity of the expected precipitation.
