Lawrence bishnoi: Firing Incident Linked to Gang in Khargone

A recent firing incident outside the residence of businessman Dilip Singh Rathore in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, has raised significant concerns within the community, as it has been linked to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The attack, which occurred on March 16, 2026, involved three masked men on motorcycles who opened fire, creating a tense atmosphere for local residents.

The Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the incident, which is part of a troubling pattern of threats and violence associated with their activities. The family of Rathore received alarming threats demanding a ransom of ₹10 crore, communicated through WhatsApp calls and voice notes. District Superintendent of Police Ravindra Verma stated, “The accused allegedly sent a video of the firing and demanded ₹10 crore, threatening to blow up the house.” This chilling message has left the family living in fear.

At the time of the incident, the Rathore family was in Indore, approximately 50 km from the district headquarters, which heightened their vulnerability. CCTV footage captured the entire incident, providing crucial evidence for the ongoing police investigation. Authorities have registered an FIR against unidentified persons and are actively working to identify the attackers.

In response to the threats, security has been bolstered at the Rathore residence, with a police team deployed as a precautionary measure. The incident is reminiscent of a similar threat reported in Ashok Nagar district, indicating a broader issue of gang-related violence in the region.

As the investigation unfolds, the local community remains on edge, grappling with the implications of such brazen criminal activity. The police are committed to ensuring the safety of residents and are utilizing all available resources to address this alarming situation.
