ICAI Announces CA Foundation and Intermediate January 2026 Results
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially released the results for the CA Foundation and Intermediate examinations conducted in January 2026. The announcement highlights the top performers in both categories, with Logapriya P P securing the first rank in the CA Foundation examination.
Logapriya P P achieved an impressive score of 366 marks out of 400, earning the All India Rank (AIR) 1. Following closely behind, Khushi Sikaria secured AIR 2 with 365 marks. The competition was fierce, as three candidates shared the third rank, each scoring 361 marks. The overall pass percentage for the CA Foundation examination stood at 19.23%, with male candidates achieving a pass percentage of 20.13% and female candidates at 18.26%.
In the CA Intermediate examination, Kanhiya Lal topped the list with a remarkable 508 marks out of 600, followed by Fathima Sheza K with 504 marks and Vanya Bansal with 498 marks. The pass percentage for candidates clearing both groups together was notably low at 9.39%, while Group 1 and Group 2 had pass percentages of 13.96% and 15.54%, respectively.
The CA Foundation examination serves as the entry-level stage for students aspiring to pursue the Chartered Accountancy programme, making these results particularly significant for those entering the profession. The low overall pass percentages reflect the challenging nature of the examinations, which have historically been a rigorous assessment of candidates’ knowledge and skills.
These results are crucial for students and educators alike, as they provide insights into the performance trends within the CA curriculum. The ICAI has consistently worked towards enhancing the quality of education and assessment in the Chartered Accountancy field, and these results will likely prompt discussions on the effectiveness of current teaching methodologies and examination formats.
Initial reactions to the results have been mixed, with some students expressing disappointment over the low pass rates, while others celebrated their achievements. The ICAI has yet to release any official statements regarding the implications of these results or any potential changes to the examination process in the future.
As the academic community reflects on these outcomes, the focus will likely shift towards supporting students in their preparation for future examinations. The ICAI’s commitment to maintaining high standards in the Chartered Accountancy profession remains a priority, and further developments are anticipated as the organization reviews the results and feedback from candidates.
