Bihar Civil Court Peon Exam Update

The Bihar Civil Court has released the admit card for the recruitment examination for Civil Court Peon posts, which is scheduled for March 15, 2026. Candidates are required to download their admit cards from the official website, as individual copies will not be sent.

This recruitment drive offers a total of 7,692 vacancies across various positions, including 3,325 for clerks, 1,562 for stenographers, 1,132 for court reader-cum-deposition writers, and 1,673 posts for peons or orderlies under Group D. Eligibility for the peon position requires candidates to have passed the Class 10 matriculation examination.

Applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 25 as of October 1, 2024, and are reminded to carry a valid photo ID along with their admit card on the exam day. “Candidates must appear at the centre mentioned on their admit card on the date and shift allotted,” a spokesperson stated.

In a related development, a bomb threat was received at the Patna Civil Court on February 9, 2026, which caused a delay in a bail hearing for Pappu Yadav, who was arrested in connection with a case dating back to 1995. The bail application was postponed due to the bomb threat, with Advocate Shivnandan Bharti confirming, “We have been told that a bomb threat has been received on the email address of the District Judge.”

Yadav’s situation has drawn attention, as he was moved to Patna Medical College and Hospital under judicial custody due to health issues. Advocate Bharti remarked, “Yadav was arrested following questionable police action and has been moved to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) under judicial custody owing to his deteriorating health.”

The recruitment process for the Bihar Civil Court is significant, as it aims to fill numerous vacancies across several categories of posts within the judicial system. This initiative is expected to enhance the operational efficiency of the courts in Bihar.

As the exam date approaches, candidates are encouraged to ensure they have all necessary documentation ready. Entry into the exam hall will not be permitted without both the admit card and a valid photo ID.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding any further implications of the bomb threat on the court’s operations or the ongoing cases. The situation continues to develop as authorities respond to the incident.
