Bihar Board Announces Class 12 Results with 85.19% Pass Rate
The Bihar Board has officially announced the Class 12 results for 2026, revealing an overall pass rate of 85.19%. This marks a decline from last year’s impressive 86.56%, raising questions about the performance of students this year.
In a notable contrast, girls have outperformed boys in this year’s results, achieving a pass percentage of 86.23% compared to boys’ 84.09%. This trend highlights the growing academic prowess among female students in Bihar.
A total of 26 students topped the exam, with an impressive 19 of them being girls. This achievement not only reflects the hard work of the students but also the supportive educational environment fostered by the Bihar School Examination Board.
The exams, held from February 2 to 13, 2026, saw participation from over 13 lakh students, showcasing the scale of the educational challenge faced by the board. Students can check their results online or via SMS using their roll numbers, a convenience that has become standard in recent years.
Bihar Education Minister Sunil Kumar commented on the results, stating, “The overall pass percentage this year is 85.19%.” He further noted, “Girls have outperformed boys across all streams,” emphasizing the need for continued support and encouragement for all students.
Despite the overall decline in pass rates, the Bihar Board continues to maintain its reputation as one of the first boards in India to declare Class 12 results. This timely announcement allows students to plan their next steps, whether it be pursuing higher education or entering the workforce.
Students are required to achieve a minimum of 33% marks to pass each subject, a standard that remains consistent year after year. The board’s commitment to maintaining rigorous academic standards is evident in these results.
As the community reflects on these results, it is essential to consider the implications for future educational policies and support systems. The performance of students, particularly girls, may influence initiatives aimed at enhancing educational outcomes in the region.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding any specific measures the Bihar Board may implement in response to this year’s results, but the focus on improving student performance is likely to remain a priority.
