Legal Action Against Badshah
Badshah, the popular Indian rapper, is facing legal challenges in Haryana following the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against his song ‘Tateeree’. The FIR was filed under Section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.
The controversy centers around the song’s visuals, which allegedly depict minor girls in school uniforms throwing their school bags and running away from studies. This portrayal has drawn significant media attention and public outcry, leading to condemnation from various quarters, including the Haryana Education Minister.
In response to the backlash, Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Pratik Singh Sisodia, issued a public apology, stating, “I belong to Haryana, and I had no intention to speak indecently about any woman or children.” He further expressed regret, saying, “If anyone is hurt, I seek apology. I expect that you will forgive me by considering me the son of Haryana.”
The Haryana Police have initiated the process of issuing a Look Out Circular (LOC) against Badshah to prevent him from leaving the country. Additionally, police teams are conducting raids to locate and arrest him as part of their investigation.
The Haryana State Commission for Women has summoned Badshah to appear on March 13, as authorities seek to address the concerns raised by the song. The police have also removed the song from YouTube and are working to take it down from other platforms.
Furthermore, the Haryana Roadways bus featured in the video is under investigation to determine whether proper permissions were obtained for its use. This incident has triggered two FIRs, one from the cybercrime police and another from Jind Police, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.
As the investigation unfolds, observers are closely monitoring the developments, and Badshah is expected to comply with the formal notice issued by the police. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the outcomes of the ongoing inquiries and the potential repercussions for the artist.
