His journey to the top was not without challenges; he achieved this rank in his third attempt, having previously cleared the Union Territories Civil Services examination in his first attempt in 2023.

A total of 958 candidates successfully cleared the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025, but Agnihotri’s achievement stands out due to his rigorous study schedule and determination. He initially faced uncertainty about his career goals but was always driven by a desire to serve the public.

Agnihotri’s father works as a technician at the Rajasthan Atomic Power Station, and his mother, a homemaker, has been a significant source of inspiration for him. He credits her for motivating him to make a positive impact on society.

But I was sure that I want to serve the people and make an impact at the larger section of society with my work.” His commitment to his studies and the support of his family have played crucial roles in his success.

He also mentioned, “If I hadn’t succeeded this time, I would have continued preparing for the next attempt. It’s a process and there are ups and downs. Now that I have succeeded, everything feels much easier.” This statement underscores his resilience and unwavering focus on his goals.

His journey began in 2017 when he started pursuing an MBBS degree. Agnihotri’s academic excellence is evident, as he scored 94 percent in Class 12 from the Atomic Energy Central School in Rawatbhata.

As Agnihotri embarks on his new role, he has been initially allotted the Union Territory cadre and posted as a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Delhi. His story serves as an inspiration to many aspiring civil servants.

Reactions to Agnihotri’s success have been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising his hard work and dedication. Krishna Bihari, a close associate, remarked, “It’s all about his own hard work and dedication.
