Lakshya Sen Advances in All England Open Badminton Championships
In a decisive match at the All England Open Badminton Championships, Lakshya Sen triumphed over Li Shi Feng, securing his spot in the semifinals with a straight-games victory of 21-13, 21-16. The match, which lasted 45 minutes, showcased Sen’s aggressive style and tactical prowess.
“Lakshya came out firing from the very first rally,” noted an observer, highlighting his commanding presence on the court. Sen’s performance was characterized by sharp smashes and clever placements that kept Li on the defensive.
The second game proved more competitive, with longer rallies and sharper exchanges at the net as Li attempted to fight his way back into the match. However, Sen maintained control, ultimately sealing his victory.
This win marks Lakshya’s third semifinal appearance at the All England Championships, following a runner-up finish in 2022 and a semifinal run in 2024. Currently ranked 12th in the world, he is the only Indian player left in the tournament after the mixed doubles pair of Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto retired from their match.
Sen’s victory also ended a streak of three consecutive defeats against Li Shi Feng, demonstrating his resilience and ability to perform under pressure. He will now face the winner of the quarterfinal match between Victor Lai and Koki Watanabe in the semifinals.
As the tournament progresses, observers are eager to see how Sen will fare against his next opponent, with hopes high for another strong performance.
