Akansha Ranjan Kapoor egg freezing experience

At 32, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor bravely chose to freeze her eggs, a decision shaped by her experiences and the realities of reproductive health. She candidly shared her story on Soha Ali Khan’s podcast, All About Her, revealing the emotional and physical challenges she faced during the process.

In March 2026, Akansha underwent the egg freezing procedure. Before this, she discovered that her AMH (Anti-Mullerian Hormone) level was low for her age, which added urgency to her decision. “I wish I had done it earlier,” she reflected, expressing a desire to have taken this step in her early or mid-twenties.

The procedure was far from easy. Akansha described experiencing significant pain and discomfort afterward. “I couldn’t walk for 2–3 days… I was in so much pain,” she said. The sensation felt like a big balloon inside her, making it difficult to stand straight.

Despite the challenges, she found support from friends and family who encouraged her decision. Many around her were starting families, prompting Akansha to take proactive steps for her future. She referred to egg freezing as a form of insurance—”It is kind of an insurance, I guess,” she explained.

This journey highlights the importance of addressing female health proactively. Egg freezing can serve as a viable option for those considering their reproductive futures amid personal or societal pressures regarding parenthood.

As women like Akansha share their stories, they contribute to a broader conversation about infertility and reproductive choices. Her experience serves as a reminder that taking charge of one’s reproductive health is vital at any age.
