Air India Flights Resume Services to West Asia
Air India and Air India Express are set to operate a total of 58 flights to West Asia, significantly enhancing connectivity between India and key destinations in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. This resumption comes as travel demand between these regions picks up, reflecting a broader recovery in international travel.
Starting March 12, 2026, Air India will operate various round-trip flights, including one from Delhi to Jeddah and two from Mumbai to Jeddah. Additionally, Air India Express will provide services from Bengaluru and Kozhikode to Jeddah, further expanding options for travelers.
In addition to Jeddah, Air India will also operate flights to Muscat, with one round-trip from Delhi and Mumbai, and two from Kozhikode. Both airlines will also conduct non-scheduled round-trip services to Riyadh from Mumbai and Kozhikode, catering to the growing demand for travel to these destinations.
IndiGo is also resuming its operations, with plans to restart flights to nine destinations in the Middle East from the same date. This move is expected to enhance competition and provide travelers with more choices.
To accommodate the increased travel demand, Air India and Air India Express have scheduled an additional 78 extra flights on long-haul routes between March 10 and March 18, 2026. This surge in flights is indicative of the airlines’ commitment to meeting passenger needs during this busy travel period.
Travelers are advised to check flight status regularly, as schedules may change at short notice. IndiGo has noted, “Flight schedules may change at short notice,” emphasizing the importance of staying updated.
Moreover, Air India Express has announced that guests traveling to or from the Gulf region to India are eligible for a free date change or cancellation for travel scheduled until March 31, 2026. This policy aims to provide flexibility for passengers amid ongoing uncertainties in travel planning.
As both airlines ramp up their operations, the focus remains on ensuring a smooth travel experience for passengers. Details remain unconfirmed regarding any further changes or expansions in service.
